Meet Dana – Adapt’s Community Manager

A new chapter is beginning at Adapt Oxford, as the doors open on a workspace designed to bring together businesses, flexible working and a strong sense of community.

At the centre of that experience is Dana, our Community Manager, who is helping bring that experience to life. From getting to know the people behind the businesses in the space to creating opportunities for members to connect, switch off and enjoy their working day, Dana is making sure Adapt Oxford feels like much more than an office.

We caught up with Dana to find out what she’s most excited about, what members can expect from life at Adapt Oxford, and, of course, where to find her when she’s not at work.

Let’s start with the space. What makes Adapt Oxford special?

The space itself is something we’re incredibly proud of. It has the relaxed atmosphere of working from a coffee shop, while still providing the facilities and environment needed to stay focused and productive.

It’s a place where people can feel comfortable, inspired and connected. We want it to be somewhere that people genuinely enjoy spending their working day.

Community is a big part of Adapt. What does that look like day-to-day?

Our team’s mission is to create an environment where people feel supported and can make the most of everything the Adapt community has to offer.

That could mean grabbing a coffee and heading out for a walk around the park, joining a business lunch and meeting someone new over great food and conversation, or finishing the day with a yoga class to recharge and reset.

For us, it’s about creating a workplace experience that supports both professional success and personal wellbeing, because work shouldn’t have to mean sitting at your desk all day!

What does a Community Manager involve?

A little bit of everything! With our hospitality-led approach, we take the time to get to know our members, understand their businesses, and support them in making meaningful connections within the wider ARC community.

A big part of my role is simply being there, whether someone needs a helping hand, wants to find out what’s happening in the community, needs help making a connection, or just fancies a chat over a coffee.

What’s your number one priority when it comes to members?

We genuinely care about our members and their experience.

Whether that’s introducing them to other businesses, helping them make the most of our events and facilities, or simply being on hand to support their day-to-day needs, our goal is to make work life easier and ensure everyone feels part of something bigger than just an office.

Hopefully, our members will feel that Adapt is somewhere they can work hard, meet great people and have a bit of fun along the way.

What’s happening at Adapt Oxford over the coming months?

We’ve got plenty planned! We’re looking forward to hosting seasonal celebrations including Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas, giving everyone plenty of opportunities to get together and enjoy the community throughout the year. And for those who like to get competitive, ARC’s newly launched padel court is now available to book!

Alongside our wellness activities and networking events, we want to create plenty of reasons for members to step away from their desks, meet people, try something new and enjoy being part of Adapt.

What would make you think, “We’ve nailed it”?

I’d love members to say that Adapt Oxford is the best workspace experience they’ve had, not just because of the facilities, but because of the people, the service, and the sense of community they feel every day.

The biggest compliment would be for members to recommend us to other businesses and become advocates for the Adapt community.

If someone walks through the doors and thinks, “I could see myself working here,” that’s a pretty good start!

Quick-fire Questions with Dana!

What do you get up to when you’re not supporting the community at Adapt?

I love travelling and making the most of my time off by discovering new places and experiences. Whether it’s a city break or a beach holiday, I love exploring somewhere new and creating lasting memories. I also enjoy attending gym classes and I’m currently learning to swim, which has been a fun challenge.

I’m someone who enjoys setting personal goals, trying new things, and continuously challenging myself, both professionally and personally.

What’s your favourite place to eat in Oxford?

Sushi is definitely my favourite food, especially anything with seafood.

My favourite place to eat in Oxford is Stick & Sushi. It’s my go-to restaurant, and I always enjoy the food and atmosphere.

Finally, where’s your favourite place you’ve travelled to?

That’s a difficult one because I love different places for completely different reasons!

For a beach holiday, I’d have to say the Amalfi Coast in Italy. The beautiful coastline, incredible food and relaxed atmosphere made it feel like the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the moment.

For a city break, it has to be Paris. I love the architecture and simply walking around such an iconic city. One of my favourite moments was seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle in the evening. It’s such a simple but magical experience, and it made the city feel completely unforgettable.

So, if you’re visiting Adapt Oxford, be sure to say hello to Dana, and maybe ask her for a restaurant recommendation while you’re at it!
